Modeling Portfolio

One of the things my mommy likes to do is put clothes on me. It's one of those things that humans have to do, because God punished them by not giving them fur.

Anyway... I don't mind it so much... it makes Mommy really happy and she calls me the best model ever. Well, were you really surprised?

She loved it so much that she decided to start an entire pet product line, just for me. I mean, if you're just going to depend on what you find in stores, it's really hard to find something that's fit for a queen. Mommy called it Puppy Love Guam -- because when you see me, you can't help but fall in love. :)

Here are some of my modeling pictures. If you like what you see, you can see more on www.puppyloveguam.com. I'm even on the front page!

Sorry... no autographs.

Easter with the Mongrels

Very few things get me giddy in this day and age. But I gotta admit, car rides still bring out the puppy in me. At first, I thought my mom was just cleaning up my toy box, but when she brought out her beach bag, I knew I was going for a ride.

I really don't know why she insists on putting these leashes on everyone. She really only needs to put one on me. I am fully capable of guiding her where she needs to go. But I guess since the other humans in the house were going too, she needed to make sure they didn't get lost either. Boy, if I wasn't around, they would have. Zeke and Brendan kept leading them in the water, but I barked at them to let them know they were going the wrong way.

The retrievers -- Brendan and Tilly -- always act like it's such a big deal to play in water. I really don't get it. But oh well. I just sat under the tree with Mummie (that's what my mom calls her) and watched everyone go crazy. Every now and then I had to bark at humans to stop running, but I guess they couldn't hear me, because they kept right on running. I finally had to just take a nap because they were driving me nuts.

At least the mongrels were preoccupied and they were tired out. When we got home, we had our dinner and everyone just went to bed. Maybe we should go for car rides more often, if that's what it takes to get them to behave right after dinner.

Ten Dog Years

My name is Maxine. If you're wondering if that photo there is a cutesy little photo some weird woman posted is me, well, it is. I'm a 10-year-old shih tzu who, up until three years ago, was an only child. Then my mom made a new friend and decided to make my life hell by bringing home what can only be described as dogs who don't know any better. I mean, really? Who is THAT happy ALL THE TIME?

I'm here to tell you that dogs have bad days too. And for me, they're coming a lot more frequently. So I decided to start this little blog so I can have an outlet to vent my frustration. Don't get me wrong, I love my life -- usually. But I guess, I owe it to you to explain.

I grew up being loved for my cuteness -- naturally. So all I have to do is be cute, and people just eat it up. Especially my mom. Though sometimes, I think she's lost it because she thinks it's cute even when I scowl. I guess I just can't help being cute. Anyway... most of the time, I spend the day laying on the couch, because apparently, I'm only allowed to sleep on it when the people aren't home. It's really weird.

A few years ago, my mom made a friend who started coming over to our house all the time. I didn't really care much about him. He took all my mom's attention away from me! I even pooped near his shoes, hoping he'd go away, but he didn't. Then he just never left. But I guess he's grown on me. I can't say I care too much about him taking my place on the bed though.

Soon after, my mom and her new friend built a house and thought I needed brothers and sisters. Ugh. I guess they couldn't control themselves. So now, I have six brothers and one sister -- Ben, Jerry, Brendan, Billy, Zeke, Zeus and Tilly -- all who think they're bigger than me. I always hear my mom saying that they're pitbulls and golden retrievers and rotties, but whatever. I'm the oldest. So I'm the biggest. Right?

I'll get around to posting pictures of them so you know who's who. Every day, they do something that makes me want to set them straight. But I guess they make life more interesting. K, I'm tired now. I'll write more later.
