Easter with the Mongrels

Very few things get me giddy in this day and age. But I gotta admit, car rides still bring out the puppy in me. At first, I thought my mom was just cleaning up my toy box, but when she brought out her beach bag, I knew I was going for a ride.

I really don't know why she insists on putting these leashes on everyone. She really only needs to put one on me. I am fully capable of guiding her where she needs to go. But I guess since the other humans in the house were going too, she needed to make sure they didn't get lost either. Boy, if I wasn't around, they would have. Zeke and Brendan kept leading them in the water, but I barked at them to let them know they were going the wrong way.

The retrievers -- Brendan and Tilly -- always act like it's such a big deal to play in water. I really don't get it. But oh well. I just sat under the tree with Mummie (that's what my mom calls her) and watched everyone go crazy. Every now and then I had to bark at humans to stop running, but I guess they couldn't hear me, because they kept right on running. I finally had to just take a nap because they were driving me nuts.

At least the mongrels were preoccupied and they were tired out. When we got home, we had our dinner and everyone just went to bed. Maybe we should go for car rides more often, if that's what it takes to get them to behave right after dinner.
